when I got my first crate, i didn't rated it, but on my second crate i rated it a 1/5 stars and then got an elf hat, but after some days of getting credits i bought my third crate, rated it 5/5 and got an epic

I am going to get my first crate as well, but I am not sure if I'm getting the good one. Fingers crossed I get an epic rare item.

It’s much better to save up for an epic item
