BrickPlanet’s affordances, algorithmic visibility, monetized attention economies, and mediated community standards, operate as soft apparatuses of governance that discipline users into normative affective and aesthetic regimes, rendering deviant voices hypervisible only insofar as they serve commodifying circuits. What appears as grassroots exchange is thus overdetermined by extractive modalities: cultural labor is appropriated, authorship destabilized, and reparative practices foreclosed by design choices that index value to platformal metrics rather than to emancipatory needs. To apprehend these harms requires a diagnostics that connects micro-level experiences of silencing and erasure with the macro-institutional architectures, patronage, moderation regimes, and capital flows, that make such injustice systemic, and that imagines counter-platform tactics which disrupt extraction rather than merely redistribute its spoils.
