- The genre of independent SANS sites still astounds me
It lowkey seems as if the developers of these SANS sites, however inexperienced they may be, are practically more knowledgable than your average Joe learning web dev from mainstream sources and bootcamps like Fireship or Treehouse, which are usually inclined to leave behind the LAMP stack for "more relevant" technologies, namely JavaScript and Deno.
If you think about it, these SANS site devs are situated between the older, more traditional server-side web developer who uses the LAMP stack and clings to premade solutions e.g. using phpBB for their forums, and the modern bootcamp web developer who is on board with the trend of rejecting PHP in favor of more modern tech stacks.
Now, what I want to convey here is that the traditional LAMP stack developer doesn't seem to know a single shred about building a custom forum feature from scratch, let alone know how to drive a server-side 3D renderer from PHP. Yet I see that the developers of the SANS sites mostly know about both of these things.
I swear that SANS site devs are ahead of the curve, even if they're still using the irrelevant LAMP stack. The web dev bootcamps don't seem to cover what SANS site devs know, not even site features such as building your own forum and shop section as opposed to full-blown skills such as managing your staff team and 3D modeling.
This was one of the most stupid things ive read in my entire life.
What's a SANS site?
This was one of the most stupid things ive read in my entire life.
I'm sorry about that, I arrived at this conclusion based on my experience surfing the niche web for 10 years.
