I personally think that the way you are hosting Brick Planet could be cheaper and I genuinely refuse to believe someone competent can spend more than 300 dollars hosting Brick Planet.

AWS is bad. You can easily get a second hand R720 and colocate it somewhere for as low as 50 euros a month, at least here in Romania. I don't believe you need more than 1gb of ram/game server so you'll have plenty.
